Ethnobotany 2025

In June 2025, Prague will become the center of international activity in the field of ethnobotany, as the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences will host The Society for Ethnobotany (SEB) Annual Meeting. This event, which attracts experts and students from all over the world, represents a unique opportunity to share scientific knowledge and discuss key issues in ethnobotany. Field Trips:
In addition to scientific talks and posters, the conference will also include excursions that will introduce participants not only to the beauty of Prague and its rich history but also to Czech culture, products, and traditions. The planned trips aim to connect scientific discussion with the cultural context of the Czech Republic, offering international participants a comprehensive experience during their stay.

As part of the cultural experience for our international participants, we are organizing three exclusive field trips showcasing the rich agricultural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Czech Republic. These trips will give attendees an immersive experience into the production of key local products and the traditions behind them. Participants will be able to visit the historic town of Žatec, known worldwide for its tradition of hop growing, Vineyard and Wine Production Exposition, St. Claire’s Vineyard in Prague or the Slivovitz Museum.

Each field trip offers a unique look at the local products and cultural history that define Czech identity, providing our conference participants with an enriching experience beyond the academic sessions.

Accomodations:
Accomodations in dorm rooms and small hotels that are walkable to the conference location are also being secured.
